1. What is CP Ignore?

Its an application that you can use with your Cool Pool or Maximum Pool game to:
- Ignore a player in the room
- block Invites from an ignored player
- block chat text from an ignored player,
- enter the room with a longer name than you could type in the game.

Last version is v3.1.0

3. How do i know when a new version comes out?

If you have CP Ignore, then it will let you know when a new version comes out.
If you don't have the program, you can check the "Cool Pool Ignore - Version History" forum.

4. Which one do i download? - the "small file" or the "Full install package"

The "small file" is just the CP Ignore executable. It requires no "install".  Just run it whenever u want, after you download it.  Chances are that your pc already has the rest of the files that CP Ignore requires. These are files that are put in your system folder by other applications, and are used by all applications that need them, so depending on what other applications you have on your system, you may or may not have those files already.

The "Full Install Package"- includes all the files that the program needs. You run the installation package and it installs like any other application, in your Programs folder. It will also make a shortcut that you can access from your Start menu.

So to answer the question:  You could get the "small file" first... if you have a slow connection.   If you get a "file missing" error, then erase the "small file", and download the "Full install package"

5. How do i install it?

"small file" - no install required, just download and save it to your disk. Run it by double clicking on it, whenever you want to start CP Ignore.

"Full install package" - Run it, then  follow directions on the screen. A shortcut will be made. You can access it from your Start menu>Programs>CP Ignore.

6. How do i uninstall it?

1. First please close any Cool Pool and Maximum Games that are running.
2. Un-Patch your games using the Patch Wizard
3. Go to control panel>add/remove programs
4. Select CP Ignore and click remove
5. If you don't see CP Ignore in the list or installed applications, its because you never installed CP Ignore (you downloaded the "small file" that requires no install), so then just delete the file "CP Ignore.exe"

7. How do i upgrade it to a newer version?

Download the "small file".  Save it (replace it) where CP Ignore is already installed.

8. I get "mswinsck.ocx file missing" error (or other file missing) when i run CP Ignore, after i download  it.

9. What do i do after i install it?

When you start it, the Patch Wizard will open automatically, if you haven't patched any games yet. To be able to use CP Ignore you must use the Patch Wizard to patch your Cool Pool or Maximum Pool game.

10. How exactly does CP Ignore work?

CP Ignore acts as a local proxy (running on your pc) between the game and the game room servers.  A proxy is a middleman for internet traffic between 2 points. Being the middleman between your game and the servers, it can now remove "ignored" packets from the packets that the server sends to your game. For this we must get the game to connect to the server through CP Ignore (which must be running when you start your game). For this we patch the game, to make it connect to Cp Ignore, instead of directly connecting to the server.

If you don't understand what a proxy is, look up on www.google.com . Now a LOCAL proxy, is a proxy application that is running on your own pc, so noone else gets to see this traffic, but you.

Here is a small explanation of how it's different with CP Ignore. Whatever the game sends to the server is now sent to yourself (your own IP, but a different port), where CP Ignore receives it.. Then CP Ignore forwards it to the server. Likewise, whatever the server sends to your game, is now sent to you on the port where CP Ignore listens. Then CP Ignore forwards this to yourself (your own IP, but to the port where your game listens)

11. Why is CP Ignore trying to connect to the internet when i open it?

When you open CP Ignore, it connects to this site to see if any newer versions exist. If a newer version exits, then it will prompt you to go to this site and download the new version.

12. What does the Patch Wizard do?

The Patch Wizard makes your game able to connect to the rooms servers through CP Ignore. This is needed so that CP Ignore can discart the ignored packets the server sends to your game.

13. What changes are made to my Cool Pool game?

1.The Patch Wizard stores the "meta_server" registry values that Cool Pool uses. These are found at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Sierra On-Line\3D Ultra Cool Pool\Prefs\Network in your registry. These stored settings are put back in place when you Un-Patch the game.

2. It then deletes these values. And puts in the value meta_server1=TCP:127.0.0.1:9876 making the game connect to CP Ignore (your own IP (127.0.0.1) on port 9876)

14. What changes are made to my Maximum Pool game?

1. The Patch Wizard stores the location of your pool.exe, so that it will know what file to UnPatch. Then it looks in the pool.exe file, searches for a pattern, to make sure IT IS your pool.exe file and not something else.

2. It modifies the pool.exe file, making the game connect to CP Ignore (your own IP (127.0.0.1) on port 9876)

15. Does my Cool Pool game have to be closed when i patch it?

No. The registry can be changed even if the game is running. However, you'll have to make Cool Pool refresh the list, if , when you patch it, you are AT the room list. F5 doesnt work for Cool Pool, so just click on BACK and then on ONLINE GAMES to get back to the room list.

16. Does my Maximum Pool game have to be closed when i patch it?

YES !!  The Patch Wizard cannot change pool.exe, if it's in use.

17. Why it says "Maximum Pool not found" when i try to patch it? ... i have Max !

The Patch Wizard looks in the registry trying to determine where your Max may be installed. Those setting are put in the registry by the Installation of Max, when you first install it. But if you move the folder to another location, then the registry values will point somewhere else. In this case, click on "Look for max (pool.exe)" button, and  browse to the real location of your pool.exe file.

18. I patched my Maximum Pool but now i see an empty room list.

1. CP Ignore MUST be running BEFORE you load your game.

2. Since version 3.1.0 user must NOT press F5 in Max. If u do press F5 and now u have an empty list, simply close your Max, Un-Patch,  Patch it again, load Max.  Do not press f5 !

19. Why does CP Ignore need to be running before i load my patched game?

Since the patch makes the game connect to CP Ignore, It needs to be running before you load your game.

20. How do i Un-Patch my game (restore to the way it was before i patched it)?

From the Patch Wizard. If you used the patched wizard to patch the game, it saves what it modifies, so that it will know what to change back. That's why its important to UN-PATCH your game BEFORE you uninstall CP Ignore.

21. How can i use both Max and Cool Pool at the same time, like i used to?

If you want to load both games at the same time, then un-patch one of them first. You cannot open 2 versions of CP Ignore, maybe this feature will be supported in a future version... but i really dont see a need for it, since this program is made to ignore chat and invites, which implies that you ARE there, typing in one game, not both

22. Does CP Ignore detect the "easy mode" cheat?

NO. That will come when the final pauth program will be released - the one that will incorporate the cheat detection, with the authentication and with the cool features of CP Ignore and Tourney Calendar  . 

I have a "Nothing to hide" policy. When it detects cheating, i will tell you so in advance.  It will be interesting though, after that to see how many people will change their aiming style overnight. Or their name :)
